Some of you may remember that almost two years ago, the STAA issued a call asking Theresians to nominate fellow Theresians from their respective batches to take part in interviews. These interviews were to be filmed as part of our centennial celebrations, and to help mark the 500th birth anniversary of St Teresa of Avila, our beloved patron.

The interviews were intended to capture one’s personal experiences of an STC education, and by so doing help to distill the essence of what it means to be a Theresian. I’m delighted to announce that the film — which we have called Hail to Thee – On Being a Theresian: A Remarkable Education, is now finished. It was directed by noted filmmaker Tito Quesada and features no less than (number) Theresians across four generations from all 4 STC campuses.

This is the very first time in the history of our school that such a film has been made, to the extent that we feel it is worthy of a sponsored viewing.

And so we have booked, on March 8, Tuesday at Glorietta 4, Cinema 3 for a 7pm showing. We would urge you all to attend. There are only 430 seats available, and we would like as many Theresians and their families and friends as possible to have the opportunity to view this special film. Please note that the viewing will also be opened up to the wider public. We have priced the tickets sensitively — they cost 500 pesos each and the proceeds will go to our charity work. If you would like to sponsor the showing in any way, please see me after this.

The film is much more than a trip down memory lane; it is a strong message about the lasting value of a unique and solid educational foundation. And it is a reminder to Theresians everywhere that we have an legacy to uphold. I would encourage you all to buy the tickets. I assure you that this is one occasion you will not want to miss.’
